Authorati is all about rating blogs. So to start with you need to have a blog. During the registration process you will be asked to choose a username, provide a password and a valid email address. In addition you will also be required to provide your blog URL, title and a handful of tags describing your blog.
 
 
Yes, Authorati is absolutely free!
 
 
  indicates the average authorship rating on a scale of 1 to 10. The rating is applied to the content of the author's blog post/blog.
  indicates the average authority rating on a scale of 1 to 5. The rating is applied to the tags that the author has specified for the blog and provides a measure of the author's authority on that topic.
 
 
Your Authorati page is available at: http://www.authorati.com/?YourUserName
In the above link substitute "YourUserName" with your Authorati username.
For example, if johndoe is your Authorati username then the link to your page is: http://www.authorati.com/?johndoe
 
 
By including Authorati's FeedFlare, you can "optimize" your blog feeds and enable subscribers to directly rate your blog posts.
Follow these steps to include the FeedFlare unit in your blog feed:
  1. Sign in to your FeedBurner account.
  2. Select the relevant blog.


  3. Click on the "Optimize" tab on the top.


  4. Select "FeedFlare" from the list of services on the left.


  5. Scroll down the list of FeedFlare units to the section "Personal Feed Flare".


  6. In the textbox watermarked "(Enter or paste a Flare Unit URL)" enter the following URL:
    http://www.authorati.com/?(+flare)


  7. Click on "Add New Flare". You should now see a Flare unit called "Rate Me On Authorati" under "Personal Feed Flare". Check the "Feed" and "Site" checkboxes.


  8. Click on "Save" at the bottom.


  9. You are done.
